Technologist Internship at Tellart

Rhode Island’s Interactive frames for Big-E (July-Aug 2019)

Created (x6) reactive frames (screens) that transition between Scenes. This project involved working with IR-proximity sensing + ADC chip with the raspberry pi (Python and the native OMX-Player).

Panama’s Biomuseo exhibits (Sept-Oct 2018)
Assisted in testing hardware (projectors, A/V network, screens, soldering and testing earphones.)

Immersive experience for Alita: Battle Angel’s film launch (Sept-Dec 2018)

Responsibilites spanned rapid prototyping with Arduino and electronics, spec-ing appropriate hardware for installs (quality and quantity), on-site inventory, installing hardware on three sites across the US, cable management, documentation + instructions.

1 - Fuzebox puzzle: A hidden challenge where guessing the correct arrangement of three fuse-box switches will reveal a secret code. The fuses are used as switches and connected to an arduino where the logic is implemented and the relay switch connected to the ultraViolet light is controlled if the password is correctly guessed by the player.
This was located in the “Scrapyard Scavenger” zone, where players would look through piles of junk and scan them to find and redeem the most valuable items to secure points for their team.

2 - Music room and Ido’s lab.
3 - Kansas Cantina: the waiting room for the experience where participants can learn about the movie and the Alita universe on the tablets before they move into the activity zone. I formatted 30+ tablets (to run the relevant app on startup and to remove unneeded and intrusive features (like windows auto-update, disabling swiping the edges of the screen, among others). It’s not shown in the photo but the tablets got set up on the tables.

Misc: CCTV setup and cable management (organized spaghetti :) ) behind the scenes of the set.

de Young Museum’s art-making exploratory space for kids (Sept 2018)

Assisted in testing / benchmarking computer performance, planning cable length and distribution for exhibition.
